  • Allow the carafe to fill with the descaling solution.
• Rinse the machine
  • After the descaling cycle is complete, Discard the descaling solution from the carafe.
  • Refill the water tank with clean water and run a brewing cycle without coffee to rinse the machine thoroughly.

  • Remove the portafilter
  • Keep the espresso button OFF
  • Place a bowl under the boiler outlet.

  • The clock will switch to a countdown of 27 minutes while the machine finishes descaling. (It will revert back to a clock at the end.)

  • While the steam starts dispensing water, open the steam knob once, for 2 to 3 seconds to discharge water from the frother.
  • Allow the bowl to fill with the descaling solution.
  • Discard the descaling solution from the bowl when the cycle is complete
• Rinse the machine
  • Refill the water tank with clean water.
  • Press the dispense button and allow the rinse water to run into the bowl until the tank is empty.
  • While water is running, open the steam knob once for 2-3 seconds to rinse the frother.
  • Repeat this rinse step at least 1 more time.
• Clean and reassemble
  • Clean and reattach the water filter (if applicable) and any removable parts.
